About
One of my earliest memories is sitting in my father's lap and watching him play Unreal Tournament. I would excitedly give my input, asking if he was winning, or if he "checked for bad guys under the stairs". As soon as I was old enough to contribute, I was allowed to press the "nitro button" while my dad played Flatout 2, or to tell him where to click while he manned Myst. My birthday parties were LAN parties more often than not (the best one was Portal-themed), and I have always been deep into the lore, music, art, and stories of my favorite escapes from reality—and an avid Quakecon attendee. There is not much I love more than my carefully cultivated PC setup and a night in Discord with friends.
Knowing this, it's no shocking fact that I ended up in the Guildhall at Southern Methodist University, where I will receive my Master's of Information Technology in Video Game Production with a minor in Level Design in May of 2023. So far I have loved every minute of my time in the Guildhall, where my passion has been supported by mentors, professors, friends, and family. I even received a scholarship from Certain Affinity! It was a challenge for me to find my passion and interest in life, but I know now I am where I am supposed to be.
I tend to be very academically focused, so I am excited to share that for my undergraduate degree I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I received a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Information Systems and a second degree in Liberal Studies (Medical/Math Concentration) along with a minor in Art. My favorite thing to do is travel the world and experience other cultures. I aspire to someday call Europe my home.
I have WAY too many Funko Pops!, pop culture graphic shirts, colorful socks, and hoodies for my own good. When I can no longer stare at screens, I play bass and acoustic guitar, and saxophone. I also enjoy painting murals, long-boarding, creating my own characters and comics, drawing characters from cult classic anime, or drawing tattoos for my friends. I'm also a HUGE hockey fan (go Stars!!).
